    Automatic Archive (Outlook 2002)

    I am trying to organize my outlook archive system to automatically archive email each month but it does not seem to be responding. What are the steps?

    There are two sets of settings:

    Under Tools | Options | Other tab | Autoarchive, you must check the "Autoarchive every 'n' days", and set the number of days and other settings as you require.

    Under each Folders' Properties | Autoarchive tab, if you have individually UNchecked the box to "Clean out items older than 'n' months", you'll have to check that box and set the time period. (Usually folders that you have created will inherit their settings from the parent folder, but if you have unchecked or varied a lot of them you may be dealing with a mess. If there are many Folders set this way, we can dredge up some code to fix them.)
