    ODBC Link (Access 2000)

I want to link by ODBC some tbale from a DB in SQL Server 2000. It always request for a Unique fields. I don't want to select eny unique field an be able to modify the tables from Access because the tables can have duplicates. I want to link the tables and use it as Access tables. How can I do that?

    Re: ODBC Link (Access 2000)

In general Access requires that linked tables have a unique identifier in order for them to be updateable. This is a case where you can argue that the designers got a bit over-cautious, but I'm sure people also got burned by updating the wrong record in earlier versions. At this point about the only options you have are to specify that some field (or combination of fields) is unique, or open the table using an ADP, which creates a whole new set of challenges.
