Page Fault in Important File (97-SR2)

I have an important work file that is suddenly giving me invalid page faults. I will print the exact message at the end of this post. My IT department is telling me that there is no way to recover the file. The most I can do [they say] is to copy/paste the data into a new spreadsheet. Unfortunately the file has cell comments and text boxes of info that are very important. Is there any way to fix an invalid page fault?

I'm afraid your IT department is right. If you can still copy/paste cells, you will copy cell comments too, and you may be able to copy text boxes. If the workbook has multiple worksheets, you can try to copy entire worksheets one by one to individual files (don't copy them all to the same file.)

From your panic, I have to assume that you don't have a recent backup of the file. An unfortunate accident as this one only serves to emphasize the importance of making backups frequently.
