    Windows Media Player 9 Can't Find File (9 000 000 3075)

Every time I click on link on a web page which involves sound or movie I get the following error message:
Windows Media Player cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline.

(I tried downloading a fresh copy of Media Player 9 and running it, but this persists. It *will* pick up sound files already on my hard drive and play them.)

Can you post a URL to a sample page for testing? One idea is to right-click the link to the movie or sound file and try to paste it directly into Windows Media Player's File>Open URL dialog. If that works, then Media Player's probably okay and there might be a disconnect with the way that links to media files work in (presumably) Internet Explorer. What other media players do you have that might be "competing" with WMP? (E.g., Real, Quicktime, iTunes...)
