    PST File in 2002? (2002)

We are setting up a new workstation (Windows XP-SP2, Outlook 2002). We keep PST & PAB files on the network server for this type of situation, so that when we need to reload programs or set up new workstations, the user doesn't lose saved email messages or contact information.

Previously, when we reloaded Outlook 97 or 98, the program automatically creates new PST & PAB folders on the workstation's C drive. We delete these files, then the next time Outlook is opened, it says it can't find those files and we are able to redirect it to the server.

This method didn't work this time with Outlook 2002. The PST & PAB files are still on the server, but we can't get Outlook to find and use them. The user is receiving email, but we can't find a PST on his workstation. Does Outlook 2002 no longer use PST & PAB files?

Can anyone help with this problem? Thanks.

They are now hidden and a system file. So you need to turn on these items in the Windows Explorer options.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
