Mozilla Firefox Search (Mozilla Firefox )

A friend just installed Mozilla Firefox. Everytime he types in an URL or clicks on a Favorite, he gets a warning message saying thatt Windows can not find the site. But the site is already open "behind" the warning message. Is there a setting that needs to be changed? See attached JPG showing the warning message.

Re: Mozilla Firefox Search (Mozilla Firefox )

Types in a URL -- where? In the "Address bar" that can be opened on the TaskBar?
Clicks on a Favorite -- where? From the Start Menu > Favorites fly-out list?

Both of these areas are integrated with Windows and probably use the registry (like links in e-mail) to decide how to handle them. You could try the trick used to stop extraneous windows and dialogs for links clicked in Outlook. It involved unchecking the "Use DDE" box in the File Types dialog for the URL "file type." If you search on this board, you'll find some useful hits. Well, useful if it's the same problem. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
