Hello all,

I just reinstalled Excel and I find that I can't persuade it to use my preferred startup directory, the one whose files Excel automatically loads upon startup.

It used to be c:alldataeverything elsexlstart

But now I want it to be c:alldatasettingsxlstart

I can change the startup directory in Tools|Options|General, of course, and when I do this and exit Excel, it always starts in that directory the next time I start Excel.

So far, so good.

However, the next time I have to restart Windows, Excel goes back to my previous preference.

I could always go back to my previous directory, but I hate to give up like that. Can anybody suggest how to get Windows AND Excel to remember my preferences?
