No 2:
Draw a diagonal line to connect the upper left corner of the +, changing it into a 4. The sum becomes 247 118 = 129.

Re: Make the expression TRUE!
Hans, you are perfectly correct on both answers.
Here is the solution listed on the web page that published the puzzle! Unless I am having a blond moment, is the second expression TRUE???
Isn't the symbol used in the second expression a variation of the : Less and Equal to sign! (If so, how can that be true!) It is less than, but NOT equal to! Regards,

Re: Make the expression TRUE!
So then expression 2 is actually INCORRECT, because although it is less than 129, it is not EQUAL to it!!!!

Re: Make the expression TRUE!
"A is less than or equal to B" is true if A is less than B, and it is also true if A is equal to B. It is not true if A is greater than B. In other words, "less than or equal to" is the same as "not greater than".

Re: Make the expression TRUE!
If it were truly a less than and equal to, it would always be false since nothing can be less than something and also equal to it.

Re: Make the expression TRUE!
It makes perfect sense now Steve! Its something I work with every day, but as I said in my previous post...I just had a major Blonde moment and lost all logic! (Almost like a mental bermuda triangle; this just go missing!)

Rudi
