    Syncing Desktop to Laptop (Outlook 2003)

    I have found the easiest way to sync Outlook on my desktop to Outlook on my laptop, which I travel with, is to just copy my PST file to my laptop. Ever since I upgraded to Office 2003 I must reboot my desktop in order to copy the PST file. If I don't, I get an error message saying that some other resource is using this file even though Outlook and every other program is closed and nothing shows as running in Task Manager. It seems that once Outlook starts it leaves something running in the background, which is not closed until the computer is shut down. Any ideas.

    Guessing from your other post, Jim, I'd say your PDA Sync software is holding Outlook open. Try shutting down the Sync software and see if it helps.
