    Safe Mode (XP Pro Sr2)

Darn! Where once getting into Safe Mode was a 'no sweat', now I can't seem to be fast enough at the right time to do the F8 thing. My BIOS has a "quick boot" (I think that means it bypasses the memory check) that I've changed so I can see the memory check count down. PAUSE works while it counts down, but I guess I just don't know when to F8 the thing. Can I just start with F8 and hold it down? Is there another way to get Safe Mode to come up?

    Else the machine works perfectly.

    Thought anyone?

Pressing F8 every second or so during the boot process usually works. See How to start Windows in Safe Mode for a description and an alternative.
