On a typical balance scale (#1), we find one tray with [five widgets and six fidgets] perfectly balanced with the other side which has [one fidget and five bidgets]. On a second balance scale (#2), we find one tray with [one bidget and three fidgets] perfectly balanced with the other side which has just [four widgets]. On a third scale(#3), one tray is pre-loaded with [three widgets and three bidgets]. The other side of this scale is empty...
1. <LI>How many fidgets must be added to the empty tray on the #3 scale to make it balance?
<LI>If the three scales weighed the same while empty and the correct number of fidgets were added to solve the first question and fidgets weighed ten ounces each, which one of the balanced (loaded) scales in this puzzle weighs the most?
