    Outlook (2003)

    Outlook 2003 will not send or receive mail. At first only sending was affected and it showed an error message 0x800cccod. It now will not receive mail as well and shows another error message 0x80040900, as well as the first. I understand that at least one of these messages are regarding a network problem, but this is a stand alone computer. It is not a problem with the internet provider as I logged on to another account and had the same problem. If I cannot solve this problem I may have to re-format the hard drive and re install all my programs again.

    Do you use an antivirus program that screens inbound and/or outbound mail? If so, some settings might be "broken." (Loungers who use your program might be able to help.)

    Is there any possibility that your firewall is blocking Outlook, perhaps because of an update to Office? (Some firewalls track application components, but usually you would be given the option to approve/disapprove access by the changed program.)
