    update query (XP)

    I have created an update query which inserts an value into a field of a Table(an end date of a course). I would like the update query to run automatically when the Table is opened, is this possible? I am sure that a VBA coding could be written to achieve this task, but my efforts have had no success to date.

    Tables in Access don't have events or triggers.

    If the SignOf Date (shouldn't if be SignOffDate?) field is going to be modified each time, you don't need it as a field in the table. You can calculate it in a query based on the table, and use the query as record source for forms and reports. The date will then always be up-to-date.
