    InsertAddress (Word/Outlook XP)

    I have a dialogue box which allows users to fill out recipient information for a letter -or- they can click a button to pull the information from their Outlook Address book. Outlook is configured to 'show the contacts folder first'. The first time I click the button, "Contacts" is displayed. however, subsequent clicks of the button (either on the same letterhead or subsequent new letters), the Global Address List is display. After I close/restart Word, Contacts will again display one time.

    Following is the line of code calling the address book:
    txtName = Application.GetAddress("", "<PR_DISPLAY_NAME>", False, 1, , , True, True)

    Is this a bug? Am I missing something?

    Thank you!

    Re: InsertAddress (Word/Outlook XP)

    Nothing in the list of arguements for that method indicates which address book to use. Bummer.

    The "UpdateRecentAddresses" parameter refers to the drop
    down list on the InsertAddress toolbar icon. By setting the arg
    to true the address selected will be added to this list.

    The fact that you get Contacts to show even once, is a
    miracle of prodigious proportions. I get Global every time and
    I'm deeply saddened by this fact. <img src=/S/crybaby.gif border=0 alt=crybaby width=15 height=15>

    Is there a registry setting that will determine this? quein sabe?

    Will changing the address book search order in a user's
    Outlook profile help? NO.

    Is there another dialog we can substitute here? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
