    VLOOKUP (2002 SP-3)

I'm trying to learn and use the VLOOKUP function and am having a hard time with it. (I've got the book out and everything <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> . Question: Can I reference a table on another spreadsheet as my lookup? I've got the reference (using the ! for the other sheet and the reference is correct, but I keep getting a #value error).

As always, any help would be appreciated.

    Re: VLOOKUP (2002 SP-3)

It's perfectly possible to refer to a table on another sheet. The easiest way to do this is to point at the sheet, then at the table while creating the formula. If the sheet name contains spaces, it must be enclosed in single quotes. This is done automatically if you point at the sheet. See attached example.
