    Capturing File Attributes (Access 2002)

    Is there anyway that Access can record the file attributes of a file I manually create a hyperlink to (to save in an Access table). I would like other fields to populate based upon the hyperlink properties and/or the file attributes. The file attributes that I am interested in recording in the Access table or query is filename, folder and subfolders, last saved date, author name.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    You can use the Scripting.FileSystemObject to retrieve info about a file, for example:

    Dim strFile As String
    Dim dtmModified As Date
    strFile = ...
    dtmModified = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").GetFile (strFile).DateLastModified

    See File Object for the properties of a file, and FileSystemObject Basics for general info on FileSystemObject.
