This is a long shot, but here goes. I'm a journalist and need a good quality, reliable voice recorder for conducting interviews. Colleagues recommend the Sony MZ B10 highly, for its simple one-button recording, but the snag is that it's only Minidisc format, not Hi-MD, so I would have to play (sometimes long) interviews into the computer in real time. What I want is something like this but which can transfer large sound files instantaneously via USB. So either Hi-MD or solid state but with built in microphone, and all the sockets. I once had a Sony Hi-MD - I forget the model number - but it regularly used to chew up interviews - and once destroyed one with the prime minister of Libya. Any suggestions for reliable kit?
