Playing with winter snow — in August

A good many people in the northern hemisphere are happy about cherry trees, tulips, daffodils, magnolias, fritillarias — you name it — in bloom. Lengthening April days and more sun switch on giddy moods for northerners.

A few people haven’t had their fill of winter adventures in snow. If you’re one of them, here’s a video to give you someplace to aim for in coming months: Arthur’s Pass in New Zealand, where the snow might be deep enough to give you joy in June, July, August, September — sometime in the southern winter.
